micro:bit Coding & Robotics Bootcamp

Put the power of computing and digital making into the hands of kids.

This Bootcamp is suitable for children ages 7 and up. Combining coding, robotics, and creativity, it's perfect for curious kids who would love the challenge of building their own race toy. They will be honing in-demand 21st century skills while having hands-on fun!

Vital for many jobs in the future, physical computing is the act of creating interactive systems that can sense and respond to the world around us, allowing humans to communicate through computers. Everything from cars and smartphones to home automation and gaming consoles are tied to coding, robotics, and mechanical engineering. Whether your child dreams of becoming an astronaut with NASA or hardware designer at Apple, the coding and robotics path starts here.

The robocar uses plug-and-play sensors to avoid obstacles, track a course, and be wirelessly controlled. This kind of system is used in Mars rovers, autonomous cars, and bots built for all kinds of robotics competitions. Conquering this workshop will set your child on the path to building bigger and better autonomous vehicles!

Our aim is to help your child build 21st century life skills including creative confidence, self-directed learning and fundamentals of physical computing. And of course, your child gets to bring home a custom-built robocar to continue tinkering on. The robocar can be developed further to include more features - their imagination is the limit!

Your child will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of electronics

  • Understand how programs work and what code does

  • Use the micro:bit to code light, sound, and motors

  • Plug-and-play different sensors

  • Discover real-world applications that are built on similar concepts

  • Build and customise robocar commands

  • Develop logical thinking skills
