Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino features two parts - hardware and software.
All Arduino boards consist of a physical programmable circuit board (also known as a microcontroller).
Arduino boards can read inputs - such as those from a tilt sensor, PIR sensor or humidity sensor - and convert them to outputs - such as turning on an LED or triggering a motor. By providing a set of instructions to the board's microcontroller, you may tell it what to do.
To program the Arduino board, you use the Arduino programming language and the Arduino Software (IDE). If you know the C++ programming language, it's pretty similar.
