RFID NFC NTAG215 Hard Tag 13.56MHz
PRODUCT ID: MOD-NFC-007
DESCRIPTION
This RFID/NFC tag contains a small RFID/NFC chip and antenna, and is passively powered by the reader/writer when placed near. These can be read by almost any 13.56MHz RFID/NFC reader but make sure it can handle ISO/IEC 14443 Type A cards. They are tested and work great with both PN532 and RC522 NFC/RFID reader/writer.
These chips can be written to & store up to 504 bytes of data, and can handle over 100,000 re-writes. For Arduino users, there are libraries available to get you started with read and write data to the EEPROM inside the tag. There is also a permanent 4-byte ID burned into the chip that you can use to identify one tag from another - the ID number cannot be changed.
These use a ISO/IEC 14443 Type A chipset, which used to be the 'classic' NFC chipset. In ~2014, the NFC forum decided not to support this chipset anymore, so newer phones do not support it. This only matters if you're trying to use this tag with a phone/tablet.
NTAG215 chip is a very fast modern chip with good reading range. It is read/writable so you can change the data as many times as you want. The data can be locked so the tag is read-only. Once the NFC tag is locked, it cannot be unlocked.
This RFID/NFC tag is compatible with NFC capable phones and tablets.
